Revulsion

Attention: open in a new window. Print

I watched you with hollow eyes,
screaming of nothing but pain and torture
Lips brittle with the blood of your own demons
soaking the soul with their greed of  destruction

Fingernails curled around fragile skin
razor sharp in their talon like edges,
Coursing the curve and pulse of each vein
yet, I can not find the strength too breathe alone

Words fall harsh against my ears,
opening the wounds foundered by those before you
Do not think you are special,
you are not the only one, who has laid this mark upon me

Mirror reflections, bring only dark resolution
on what you trully see, the inner reflection
The clearer, scarred side of me
ugly under your own words of redemption

I watched you with hollow eyes,
tears which once fell are now dried and erasing
All signs of  hope and light which casts
dull shadows, tormenting the senses

I see nothing but ugly victory
your insipid doubts have created
my revulsion
